Today, I read the news about an owner who sells Nasi Lemak with udang/ayam merah for RM 3.50. This sparked an argument with someone questioning whether the owner was trying to monopolize the Nasi Lemak category, suggesting she should sell it for RM 4.50 instead. I admire the owner's response; she demonstrated high emotional intelligence by gifting a pack to the person, hoping they would return as a satisfied customer.
As I went through the comments, I noticed that 90% exuded positive energy. Remarks like "It's wonderful as some from the B40 category can't even afford RM5 rice" and "好人好报" (good people will be rewarded) were heartwarming. On the other hand, negative comments included predictions like "soon will be closing down" and dismissive remarks such as "so silly to do charity."
In this world, there's no absolute good or bad. I believe the seller has her reasons for this pricing strategy – perhaps to reduce the margin and increase sales. It's also a strategic move.
I hope for a world with more sympathy, and I wish this seller all the best in overcoming these challenges.
